Like most first-time parents, we bought The Little Guy a fair amount of toys, and of course he receives a lot of gifts as well.We bought the APA toy box from IKEA last year.
This is what we used in the interim.
Not a very attractive option.
So we went to IKEA again yesterday in the hunt for an upgrade. We did some research on the IKEA website beforehand and we were going to buy this (MINNEN treasure chest) but it was smaller than we expected.
So we had a wander around the store and opted for something outside of the kids' section.
We chose the 2x2 EXPEDIT shelving unit in white, and 2 LEKMAN boxes to be used as the drawers for the bottom 2 shelves.
Mr Curious put the shelves together today and this is the result.
Hard toys are in the left drawer and soft toys are in the right drawer:
The Little Guy enjoyed pulling the drawers in and out, and we're very happy to get rid of the cardboard boxes.
The APA box is now used to store some of his larger toys.
Of course no one goes to IKEA and not pick up other stuff.
We also bought the LEKPLATS play mat:
And the MULA abacus:
We are also trying to get ideas for kitchen and bathrooms as we may start a mini-renovation for our place. I like the look of these kitchens:
I also like this clock/bookshelf but we have no room for it!
Visiting IKEA is always a lot of fun. I enjoy discovering new designs and gadgets - the trick is not to buy stuff that we won't use once we got home!
